This unforgettable instrumental music piece is known as a 'Shaan' in Sikh Music.
Yogi of Sound Professor Surinder Singh plays the Sikh string instrument from north India known as the 'Saranda' (Sa-ran-da).
Interesting facts:
The Saranda is a unique rare instrument that originated among the Sikhs – designed, created and played by the fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Sahib Ji from northern India. Guru Arjan Sahib Ji instructed the singing of the sacred 'Shabads' (scripture) with this instrument to elevate the soul and merge with the divine. This bowed string instrument has similar-looking siblings known as sirinda, sarinda, qechak, gaychak, Nepali sarangi and many more. These are still played for regional folk music in Pakistan from Sindh to Baluchistan, in Afghanistan from Kabul to Kandahar and in Iran.
