Welcome back to my Raw Wool to Roving video series! In episode 6, I’m showing you how to use a hackle and diz to pull roving from a batt that was originally prepared on a drum carder.

Instead of using wool combs to create true combed top, this method pulls roving from a hackle—perfect when your fiber prep started with carding, not combing. It’s a great way to align fibers enough for smoother spinning without the full combing process.
