In Part 5 of this build series, I continue carving and refining the tree trunk table, working deeper into the surface to develop realistic wood grain, knots, junctions, twists, and natural imperfections.
This stage builds directly on the base coat, focusing on how real wood behaves over time — where grain tightens, splits, compresses, and softens. Rather than adding surface decoration, the aim here is to make the form feel grown, not applied.
The video remains largely visual, showing the hands-on carving process with minimal talking. Some sections are sped up or slowed down to clearly show how the material behaves as it firms up and how different tools affect the surface.
This series documents the full process of building a rustic, faux bois–inspired tree trunk table, from early structure through to final finish.
In this video:

Adding knots, junctions, and natural splits
Refining root and trunk transitions
