STEP BY STEP GUIDE
How to hide Chat, Spaces and Meet tabs in the Gmail inbox

Make sure you are logged into Google and in the Gmail inbox.

STEP 1
To remove the Chat & Meet tabs. move your mouse to the Cog icon on the right of the inbox to access the settings in Gmail.
And click on that icon

STEP 2
A panel is then opened on the right of the inbox. Choose the ‘See all settings’ link to open the detailed settings section.

STEP 3
The area we’re interested in, in the settings section, is Chat and Meet on
the right of the page. Let's click on that option.

STEP 4
Lets firstly turn our attention to the chat section
To remove the chat tab we simply need to choose the Off option from the list shown.

STEP 5
Turning to the Meet section at the very bottom of the page, you’ll see the ‘Show the Meet section in main menu’ option is shown. Let’s choose the Hide option below that to remove the tab.

STEP 6
Remember, as always in the Gmail settings section,
to apply any changes you have made you must click the ‘Save Changes’ button at the bottom of the page.

STEP 7
Gmail then reloads and you’ll see that the Meet and chat tabs have now been removed.from your inbox view
