Classic air-cooled VW engines use two different mechanical fuel pumps, and they require two different pushrods.
If they’re mixed up, the pump may not deliver enough fuel, or the pushrod can over-stroke the lever and damage the pump.
In this Kombi Garage Nibble, we look at how to quickly identify which fuel pump you have, and which pushrod it needs.
