With deciduous fruit trees, it's hard to see what those summer pruning cuts actually did because of all the leaves. With the leaves now dropped on our "Li" and "Lang" jujubes, we can check our summer pruning results. Pruning in the summer reduces vigor and allows for regrowth of more compact growth. Winter pruning, on the other hand, allows you to make detailed pruning cuts, with all of the branches bare and showing the internal scaffolding of the tree. IN this video, I talk through some of the pruning cuts in a multiplanted jujube planting.
