The American B-2 Spirit bomber is designed with stealth technology to avoid radar detection. However, Russia has developed advanced radar systems that can sometimes detect these planes. This does not mean the B-2 is outdated, but rather that radar technology is also evolving rapidly.
Russian radars like the Nebo-M use multiple frequency bands, including VHF, UHF, and L-band. Stealth planes are mainly designed to avoid detection from high-frequency radars used by most fighter jets and air defence systems. But low-frequency radars can still detect their presence, even if they cannot lock on precisely for a missile shot. This gives Russian systems an advantage in early warning and tracking.
Additionally, Russia has invested heavily in integrated radar networks combining data from multiple sources. This creates a clearer overall picture of the sky, making it harder for stealth planes to stay invisible.
Overall, while the B-2 remains a highly stealthy and capable aircraft, radar technology is catching up. It shows that no technology is permanent in warfare. Stealth gives an edge, but detection systems will always adapt to counter it. This technological race continues as both sides innovate for dominance.
