Gumshoe was designed by the same team (Gary Grady with Suzanne Goldberg and others from Sleuth Publications) that made the much more famous Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective system, and uses the same basic mechanics.
However, it's a much more ambitious and demanding game that uses a 9-day campaign with many different cases that weave in and out of the entire duration of the campaign.
