Zanskar Trek | Pt 6 - Following the Chandra River in Lahaul & Spiti | Himachal Pradesh | India

Описание: When we arrived in Sarchu, we had crossed from Ladakh to Himachal Pradesh, specifically Lahaul and Spiti, where we would be trekking in the Spiti Valley area from now. There was no chance to go below 4000 metres for 2 weeks.

From Sarchu the route to where we intended, and possible campsites along the way, was largely unknown. It involved camping at our highest altitude during the trek. As it was early September, the season was getting colder too.

This segment involved long days and some very tough hiking over hard terrain (rocks, rocks, rocks) and multiple river crossings. Eventually we arrived at the Chandra River, where we would follow the trail along the Chandra Valley towards Chandra Tal, our end destination in the next video.

In August and September 2022, I was in Ladakh, India, for a month-long trek of Zanskar GHT (Great Himalayan Trail). Our hiking team comprised 6 trekkers, 8 crew and 19 horses (including mules).
