Hello everyone,
My name is Nicole and I am live and work in Shanghai, China.
Ever since early 2020, travelling has been strongly impacted by the global pandemic and made it hardly possible for me to move around. This summer I finally got to visit my hometown in Austria after two years.
Overall, the trip had been smooth and easy, until it was time for my return to China...it took a total of 5 tests before the flight, a sleepover in the airport transit area as well as a week spent in centralised quarantine upon entry.
In this blog post, I will tell and SHOW you what it is like to spend 7 days in quarantine in China.
As a side note: In the media you might have heard that Shanghai had been locked down in April+May. All of us had been stuck in our apartments without being to allowed to leave the building complexes for 70 days. That is why I mention that 7 days seem comparatively "short" and doable as long as you bring a book, a list of Netflix movies or plenty of work :)
