A rainbow is an optical phenomenon that appears as a band of colors in an arc, resulting from the refraction of the sun's light rays by the rain. When the sun shines on the droplets of water in the atmosphere, a rainbow formed.
What You Need
A bowl or Pan
Water
A flashlight or sunlight
A mirror
A white surface or piece of paper
What to Do:
Fill the shallow pan about half way full with water.
Place the mirror in the water at an angle.
Shine the light of your phone into the water where the mirror is placed (or, using the sunlight, bring the pan and mirror outside so the sun can shine on the mirror underwater)
Adjust the angle until you see the rainbow appear on wall or white paper.
turn off the lights if you are trying in the room.
will be visible in pitch dark room.
