So I went over to Sassafras St in downtown San Diego to catch two Amtrak trains on Monday, Jan 21st 2013. When I was walking up to the crossing, I noticed that one of the gates had been busted somehow. They had a couple police officers there to protect the crossing until someone came out to fix it. Both Amtrak trains I caught had to be flagged over the crossing.
Train #1...A quick shot of Amtrak #579 crossing Sassafras St, with the broken crossing arm off to the right side of the shot. Cabcar #6904 leads the train.
Train #2...Amtrak #572 led by P42DC #91, crosses the street.
