The Trains
Soo-Milwaukee MP-15s – in the so called Bandit paint scheme – switch the West end of St Paul Yard at Dayton’s Bluff
Note - After the Milwaukee Road went bankrupt in the 1980s - it was sold at auction and the Soo Line, Chicago & NorthWestern and Grand Trunk Western all bid.
The Chicago & NorthWestern had the highest bid - so they assumed that they would win and started repainting locomotives and depots
The judge said that the Soo Line which had a lower bid should get the Milwaukee Road because competitive issues
He said that if the C&NW got the Milwaukee Road - Wisconsin would essentially become a one Railroad state with the Chicago & NorthWestern owning most of the trackage
The Soo Line did not expect to win - so when they suddenly won the bid, employees went out and with black latex paint and painted out the Milwaukee Road on the side of the locomotives. These became the so-called 'Bandits' with the so-called Bandit paint scheme.

Chicago & NorthWestern light power consist arrives at the Belt Yard to take a train – with SD-40-2 / SD-40-2 / GP-38 / GP-9 locomotives

BN – Burlington Northern – GP-50 / GP-50 / Fuel Tender Car / B30-7A with freight train Eastbound

Soo Line SD-40-2 / SD-40-2 – freight train Westbound

C&NW GP-9 locomotives arrive at the Belt Yard

C&NW SD-10 / SD-10 locomotives depart the Belt Yard for the Western Avenue Yard in St Paul

Soo-Milwaukee GP-40s – one in the so called Bandit paint scheme – arrive at St Paul Yard with an Eastbound TOFC Sprint Train for Chicago

EMD General Motors Leasing SD-35 / GP-38 freight train that has empty grain cars and heavy loaded ballast cars – it had an MP-15 on the rear as pusher for Short Line Hill

C&NW SD-50 / SD-50 / Soo SD40-2 - with coal loads going to a Wisconsin Public Service Power Plant in Central Wisconsin
