Utricularia Graminifolia (U.G.) - First 40 Days - Grow Notes - 4 Gallon Nano Planted Tank

Описание: This video shows the first 40 days growing utricularia graminifolia, or U.G. - using ADA tissue culture. This is my first time growing U.G. and I'm pleased at the first five weeks. I wasn't sure what parameters were best but understood that U.G. typically likes soft water and is known to be tricky. I am injecting a lot of co2, and have the lights dialed up pretty high. I have not fertilized yet since the ADA Amazonia aqua soil is still very rich. Surprisingly, I only had minor algae issues during the 2nd week, it quickly dissipated as the U.G. began to accelerate its development going into the 4th and 5th week. The most important factor for me growing UG (for the first time) was making sure the flow was strong without lifting the UG during the first three weeks. At first, the roots were extremely fine while the upper foliage was growing quickly, this created a situation where the UG wanted to lift. Once the UG roots fully set I was able to increase flow to 100%, around the 5th week.

Bonus: If you look closely you can also see pogostemon helferi growing in the U.G. (future video!). I'm wondering how long this small 4 gallon tank can keep up with the growth of the UG.
