Kavadikere Shri Durgamma Devi Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located on the banks of the beautiful 62-acre Kavadikere Lake near Yellapur in Uttara Kannada. Surrounded by the lush forests of the Western Ghats, this sacred place is known for its peaceful natural beauty and deep mythological significance.

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, locally worshipped as Kavadiyamma. According to legend from the Dwapara Yuga, Bhima created this lake while searching for water to quench the thirst of Draupadi. After praying to the Goddess, Bhima carried water from the sacred Ganga River using a kavadi, which is believed to have formed the Kavadikere Lake.

Located about 9–10 km from Magod Falls and around 17 km from Yellapur town, the temple attracts devotees and nature lovers alike. The lake is filled with lilies and lotus flowers and is also a peaceful spot for birdwatching.

This temple is considered a powerful Shakta Kshetra, where devotees pray for blessings and solutions to their difficulties. The temple architecture is simple yet traditional, beautifully surrounded by hills and areca nut plantations.
