I start by pasting the collage papers I made earlier directly onto the canvas. From there, I build over them with acrylic paint, using different tools and mediums to add texture, marks and movement. As the painting develops, I respond to each layer until it starts to feel resolved. I finished the piece with final mark making using acrylic inks and pens.
This video is about watching a painting come together step by step - adjusting, layering and knowing when to stop. If you enjoy seeing how details and decisions shape the final outcome, I hope you'll enjoy this one.
