Qamheiah discussed how after three decades of helping deliver successful projects in Canada, why are governments increasingly reluctant to make use of private finance to help get shovels in the ground and make their infrastructure projects a reality. Especially when not involving banks and pension funds removes additional — and impartial —oversight and rigour from government procurement, construction, operations and maintenance phases, leaving taxpayers exposed to potential cost overruns and delays.
