We have all we need to be the co-creators of a new world of inclusion and equity that God has asked us to help build. That was Jesus message to those who sat on a hill so very long ago, and that is the message for us today.
At no point are we not good enough. Jesus was reassuring people. We can never be less than enough.
And Jesus was basing that on the laws and the teachings of the prophets, which he did not come to upend but rather to fulfill. A bold statement to be sure, one that will continue to get him into conflict with the Temple leadership for the rest of his ministry.
