These are good studio headphones and we loved the price. They offer a great deal of value. Frankly high-end headphones can be a risk because you are paying a lot of money and you may not get the expected quality that you hope for.

We frankly were surprised that these studio headphones on Amazon performed as they did. While they are cost friendly, that is not all they deliver. They deliver the value that you hope to find in a set of headphones.

Features.

One of the key features that we liked about the Beyerdynamic DT880 is the durability. They are designed to be used. Some studio headphones are flimsy and a challenge to keep safe in the studio environment.

They come complete with a ¼ inch adapter, documentation and a pouch in the box. The carrying pouch is a nice add on.

The Beyerdynamic DT880 pro headphones are 250 OHM’s. With 250Ω and 96dB/mW sensitivity you need an amp to get them up to full speed of course 96dB/mW is plenty loud enough without the amp.

There are actually a few versions of this headset, the Beyerdynamic DT 880 vs premium 600Ω and the 250Ω model. There is also a 32Ω model.

Over review looked at the 250Ω model and here are a few things that we discovered with this review:
• It has a matter finish with chrome forks
• The band is wrapped in leather
• The cable is attached to the left ear cup
• There is over 9 feet of cable
• The ear cups are rubber and super comfortable

Some of the features we were happy with, the extra-long cord is a great option for anyone that has a hard time sitting still. It gives you enough room to get up and move around while you are listening.

The coiled cord helps to avoid tangles while you are moving around. The cord is durable.

We also like that the band cover and more are easily replaceable. You can find exactly what you need online with a few clicks, which of course means that these headphones can last you a lifetime with a few replacement parts.

I found these headphones to be very comfortable for long periods of time which is great for any studio setting. There is a lot of thought put into the design and the comfort level of the wearer.

The Sound.

Obviously the most important part for any audiophile is the sound of the 880 headphones. We found that there was a little bit of distortion in the low areas, but they were not so critical that it was a deal breaker, as a matter of fact most people would not even notice the sound distortion.

It is a mild annoyance that is not noticeable. An easy way to offset the distortion is to remember to increase the volume instead of increasing the emphasis.

Some people have complained about peeks in treble with these headphones, but we did not find the same problems with a little adjusting they sounded just fine.

Listening is a personal experience and there are different strokes for different folks, we understand that. Our goal is to not discount what other people are experiencing but to deliver an unbiased view or what we experienced.
