A sequel to the ZAP Power Force/Cybercop commercials consisting of Mars, Jupiter, Mercury and Saturn, Lucifer Bit comes in a bit late into the series and is pivotal to Jupiter Bit/Shinya Takeda's mystery and backstory whereas everyone else was already belonging to the year 1999.
This will get edited later on after I finished watching the show to give my thoughts but for now...
For something selling a villain toy back in the day, they really have a LOT of gutsy moves showcasing how this guy is and funny enough, today is my birthday and I got him. Just without his weapons. The amount of articulation on this one toy is STUPENDOUS for its time, even beating out the articulation on the big Ranger figures back in the 90's: • Bandai Power Rangers Toy Commercial 1994 . (Btw, I have Green but without his armor)
He has wrist articulation, elbow articulation, swivel at the knee sections, swivel at the biceps and even a waist and neck articulation. THAT'S INSANE!! Even for 80's toys standards, this was unheard of.
Not a lot of villain toys in Japan gained this kind of attention. Unless you're Overlord from Transformers Masterforce or Predaking: • Amazing transformers overlord toy commerci...
• Amazing Japanese transformers Predaking co...
most of the villains toys I've seen in Japanese toy commercials especially Transformers were always saddled with one more character specifically either hero or villain. Most hero toys seem at the time seem to be commercialized all by themselves as well as the side heroes confidently or the hero having to take on the villain toy to showcase their heroic prowess which seems to be the case. Deathsaurus here had to carry his Breastforce troops in the commercial or another commercial where Road Caesar takes center stage but Liokaiser appears at the end: • Transformers Victory - Liokaiser and Desza...
• Transformers generation one Japanese toy c... (Road Caesar)
• Amazing G1 buster & hydra transformers tv ... (Hydra and Buster but with Super Ginrai in the background)
Even poor Death King from Microman had to be saddled with a jobber robot: • Microman: "Punch Robo vs. Death King"
That includes Death Cross against Machine Saurer: • Takara Magnemo: "Machinesaurer and Death C...
Tho tbh, his own commercial came in later.
With Blazord here, his commercial was pretty unique as it did not reuse any backgrounds from an existing commercial and was proudly showcased with everything you need to see out of him including his extra articulation near the end of the video. Of course, he was shown with Jupiter Bit but this was due to showcasing his neck articulation, showing how expressive these toys can get. That is insane. It's just like Art of Fighting 3 with how SNK advertised how much work has been placed into it. You can check that video by GuileWinQuote here: • 2D Tekken on the Neo Geo - The Art of Figh...
Now that's what you call a little bit of love and passion in a work which later on, some villains will gain their own toy commercials without the help of the heroes stealing their spotlight. Hope you guys enjoy this while I watch some Cybercop. Oh and Happy Birthday to I, late Merry X'mas and a Happy New Years!
