Making Marinette's Purse - Miraculous Ladybug

The pattern used was made by me (17cmx20cm) with 5cm pleat/gather (instructions are down below).

The purse frame isn't exactly like Marinette's purse because it was all I could find in the right size.

Materials used
Pink Poplin fabric
Red Dutch Satin
Gold Purse Frame (bought off eBay)
Black strap 55 inchs long
Threads and sewing needle
Iron
White fabric paint
Small fine paint brush
Black fabric marker

Instructions on how to make the bag
Cut the fabric out. Since Poplin is so thin, i cut double the amount.

Then I painted the design on and the spots

let the fabric dry and then heat press the fabric. Heat pressing stops the paint from coming off.

Pin the pink poplin pieces together and sew them together

Then cut the two bag pieces out of the red fabric

i put an inverted pleat in the middle/bottom of the red bag. This gives more room but keeping it in the circular shape.

However, the front pieces are slightly different. I use an inverted pleat in the back piece but for the front i gather the bottom.

the I sew the red and the pink as two separate bags, leaving the top open

-then I sew the tops together and leave a gap to pull the it inside out.

Then I iron it flat

Sew the hole close

then sew the purse frame on, use the pins to find the centre of the bag. Then line the frame up with the pins, so that you get it on even.

Then add the black bag strap.
