US Stock Futures Rise As Senate Reaches Deal On Ending The Shutdown, Asia Mixed; Flat Start On D-St?

Описание: U.S. stock futures gained despite coming off the worst week for tech stocks since April, as investors clung to indications that a deal may be in the works to end the government shutdown.

Dow Jones Industrial Average futures jumped 120 points, or 0.3% late Sunday. S&P 500 futures gained 0.4% and Nasdaq-100 futures rose 0.6%. Bitcoin topped the $105,000 level after a nearly 3% rise in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, U.S. senators has reached an agreement to reopen the government after 40 days, signaling an end to the lengthy shutdown.

A group of at least eight Senate Democrats, in consultation with Senate GOP leaders and the White House, reportedly reached a deal on Sunday to end the 40-day US government shutdown in exchange for a future vote on extending enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies.

U.S. stock market ended mixed on Friday, weighed down by concerns about the economy and sky-high valuations in the technology sector. However, US stock futures rose on Monday after lawmakers neared a deal to end the historic US government shutdown.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 74.80 points, or 0.16%, to 46,987.10, while the S&P 500 rose 8.48 points, or 0.13%, to 6,728.80. The Nasdaq Composite closed 49.45 points, or 0.21%, lower at 23,004.54.

Asian markets traded mostly higher today. Japan’s Nikkei 225 gained 0.63%, while the Topix rose 0.37%. South Korea’s Kospi jumped 2.01%, and Kosdaq was flat. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index futures indicated a lower opening.

Meanwhile, Gift Nifty was trading around 25,587 level, a discount of nearly 2 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close, indicating a flat start for the Indian stock market indices.
