The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro powered by Apple's own chip M1 are great laptops. However, Apple moving to different processor architecture, from Intel to M1, means the apps you use in your Mac would also need to be updated.
That comes at a price, though. Some apps are quick to update and support the Apple M1 chip, while others are not. While developers take their time to update their apps, Apple has magic up their sleeves - the Rosetta 2 engine. This Rosetta engine helps you, users, keep using the apps you have been using in the M1 chip MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. If an app does not support the native M1 chip, this Rosetta engine will translate the app and let it run on the Apple M1 chip. Developers won't need to make any changes to their apps; the apps will just work. This is key for Apple as they transition all of their hardware to their own M-series chips. And it is also key for us, users, to have a great experience with your MacBook.
In this video, lets dive into the state of app compatibility with the M1 MacBook Air and also show you all of the apps I use in my MacBook Air
