Day 3 in Yogyakarta begins with a cultural visit to Omah UGM in Kotagede. This beautifully preserved Joglo house, maintained by the local government, showcases a rich collection of vintage items from the past. Walking through the wooden structure feels like stepping back in time, surrounded by heritage, stories, and traditional Javanese architecture.
For lunch, we head to the legendary Warung Bakmi Jowo Mbah Gito, well known for its authentic Javanese noodles cooked with traditional methods and deep, comforting flavors. The rustic ambiance perfectly complements the classic taste.
In the afternoon, the hunt for beautiful batik continues at Rumah Kita boutique, exploring elegant pieces that reflect the timeless art of Indonesian batik.
As night falls, we stroll around the vibrant Malioboro Street area, enjoying the lively atmosphere and street charm. The day ends with a special royal dining experience at Bale Raos, a restaurant located within the Keraton area, serving dishes once enjoyed by the Sultans of Yogyakarta.
