Lust is not admiring someone who is attractive. Lust is not the natural desire that God has placed within every one of us.
Lust is the encouraging and the cultivating of sexual fantasy about someone else other than your mate in marriage. That is what the Bible calls evil imagination, and that can be controlled. That can be eliminated.
If we are going to be different (peculiar) people, if we are going to live moral lives, it is essential that we begin with the thought life.
Simon Peter said, Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:13-16
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
