Jean Sime — an award-winning children's book author, kidney recipient, and multi-talented publishing professional, to share her remarkable journey from surviving chronic kidney disease to co-authoring the powerful children’s book Howl Is Thankful for Kidney Donation.

Jean’s story is one of courage, hope, and purpose. Diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in 2013, she endured years of dialysis while working full-time before receiving the gift of life, a kidney donated by a kind-hearted nurse named Patricia. That life-changing experience led Jean to discover her new calling in storytelling and publishing.

Today, Jean wears many hats as a Publishing Coordinator, Proofreader and Editor, Art Director for BC Books LLC, and VIP Marketing Concierge for KWE Publishing. She uses her expertise to guide other authors through editing, book design, and marketing, helping them bring their stories to life and reach wider audiences.

Together with her friend and fellow author Brenda E. Cortez, the creator of Howl the Owl (H.O.W.L. — Help Others With Love), Jean co-authored Howl Is Thankful for Kidney Donation, a heartfelt children’s book that teaches kids and families about kindness, courage, and the life-saving power of organ donation.
