300yd 24" varminter ar15 shoot

Описание: Just finished putting everything together and breaking the barrel in (clean, 1 shot, clean, 1 shot clean, 1 shot clean, 1 shot clean, 1 shot clean, 2 shots clean, 3 shots clean done 10 rounds total) some people say its a joke; nothing happens etc, however I did some machining on the barrel and I paid good money for it, so IMO it couldn't hurt.

The location is in conroe tx, the range from shot to target is 297yds ( i ran out of fence line to shoot from, ill be moving the target into the adjacent field to get some SERIOUS range in the coming future. The bullets used were HPS 75gr HPBT from academy. They were FANTASTIC! great distance with little drop, I would estimate the drop to be about 3 inches (estimate)

The build: It started off as a basic bushmaster carbon 15 with a red dot when I first bought it. I then saw that bushmaster offered a 24" varminter barrel and free float hand guard (my dream) and since my birthday was coming up, I had all my gifts gun related (thanks everyone!)

Note: the newer bushmaster carbon composite AR uppers feature a larger barrel nut (1.25) when the average ar uses a 1.19 (minor diameter) barrel nut and they dont interchange.

upper is an AO precision M4 style upper from midway. The door and forward assist were swapped over from the bushmaster upper
the barrel is a 24" 1:9 twist 416 stainless barrel form bushmaster. It came with the free float handguard and associated barrel nut and a low profile gas block and new gas tube.
the scope is a Nikon pro staff 3-9X40 I bought a few years back, its been on a ruger mini-14, a 22 rimfire, a 300 weatherby vanguard and now this... its managed to live this long, so it receives my approval.
the trigger is a jard 1.5lb adjustable trigger (finnecky to adjust but well worth it)
the lower is a factory carbon 15, however I had to re thread the grip form 1/4-28 to 5/16-18 since it stripped when I tapped it for the trigger install
the stock is a magpul PRS and its just fantastic, adjustable cheek rest, adjustable stock length, good weight.
the bipod is from walmart... end of story, however it was originally on my 300 weatherby vanguard and it lived through that, so yet again, something cheap gets my approval.
