The Court of Appeal in Abuja has delivered a major judgment on the leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The court dismissed the appeal filed by the faction linked to Tanimu Turaki challenging an earlier Federal High Court ruling and upheld the judgment of the Federal High Court Abuja delivered by Justice James Omotosho, which stopped the Peoples Democratic Party November national convention.
The court also affirmed the earlier Federal High Court judgment that suspended some national officers of the party, including Samuel Anyanwu, Abdulrahman Mohammed, Kamaldeen Ajibade and Umar Bature, and also awarded two million naira in costs against the Turaki faction that filed the appeal.
The court also affirmed the judgment against the PDP over Sule Lamido’s Ibadan convention exclusion.
