Описание: Changing other people's views isn't as impossible as it seems. We all feel strongly about the rights and wrongs of language. Daniel describes how what you hold dear isn't cause to judge others – instead it can lead to building connection and community. Daniel is a linguist and science communicator teaching at the University of Western Australia. Since 2009, Daniel has been a presenter on the RTRFM podcast Talk the Talk and is also the voice of the Speakeasy on ABC Perth Radio. He takes questions from an engaged (and occasionally enraged) radio audience. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
