The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is moving forward with plans for a new visitor arrival center and parking facility at 427 Franklin Street. City staff have recommended approval, with final City Council review expected later this year. The 3,428-square-foot building and 443-space lot are designed to improve access to the Historic Area while preserving nearby historic and ecological features. A traffic study found the project would add about 872 daily trips but no major road changes are needed, with only minor pedestrian and bike safety upgrades recommended.
