President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated Ghana’s first pasta processing plant at Kpong by Olam Agri Ghana while simultaneously announcing the expansion of the land transit ban to include rice, mackerel, and tomato paste.
The directive comes after authorities intercepted trucks suspected of participating in transit diversion schemes. The government says these measures are aimed at supporting local food processing industries and curbing illegal transit of key food commodities.
