Addressing the media, association members said that the refusal to renew permits for 12-year-old vehicles has severely affected their livelihood, as many operators depend entirely on these vehicles for income.
The association warned that the situation could lead to increased unemployment, as several small operators and drivers may be forced out of business if the issue is not resolved at the earliest.
Adding to their concerns, the association alleged that vehicles from other states continue to operate in Goa by exploiting loopholes, while local operators are facing strict enforcement.
