President Cyril Ramaphosa has given spaza shops 21 days to re-register their businesses as part of the government's efforts to curb the increasing number of foodborne illnesses. Bheki Twala from the Township Economy Commission of South Africa says that while the 21-day deadline poses a challenge, through effective cooperation with municipalities, it is achievable.
