Jade played through a few of her songs the morning of the session, all good in different ways. "Gold" stuck out though, with its driving rhythm and punchy chorus.
She put the acoustic down effortlessly playing to a clave we'd tapped out on the back of the guitar. She ran the vocal a few times and improvised some piano noodlings and organ pads which I chopped up later. We devised some bvs and layered them up.
I put down some bass guitar and Joe Taylor from her live band came in to record the drums and tambourine.
It was a challenge to edit out the laughter she left on practically every track she recorded, but good to see her enjoying herself.
