Today, an over two-decade wrong was made right as WWJ in Detroit finally has a news operation for the first time in the station’s history. CBS News Detroit launched today, after a year and change of waiting. CBS News Detroit is a streaming-intensive operation. Morning, midday, 4pm, 5pm, and weekend newscasts are expected to be added to the lineup in the weeks ahead, as well as more streaming-exclusive news hours. The 6pm newscast is seen on both WWJ and on the streaming platform, but the 6:30pm is newscast is billed as streaming-exclusive, but is also simulcast on sister CW affiliate WKBD. This is the open to the 11pm newscast.
