The Jordan brand continue to move into golf with this shoe, this is the much more accessible shoe as opposed to the limited releases they do. It is also a golf specific shoe and not a golf version of a basketball shoe.

This retails for around £120 and according to the Nike website it takes inspiration from the Jordan 4 range. This inspiration comes from the mesh tongue, the eyelets at the top and of course the wing shaped heel tab back of the shoe. For me this is a little bit gimmicky to say it takes inspiration, apart from the heel tab I struggle to really see the Jordan 4 in it!

So lets get into the nitty gritty of the shoe from a golf performance point of view!

The uppers of the shoe are made from leather, this has the look and feel of a premium.

Down the sides of the shoe we also have the mud guard which makes it nice and easy to simply wipe clean. The mesh on the tongue offer protection against the elements, however this makes cleaning a little more difficult. On the top of the tongue the famous Jordan logo sticks outwards, from a look perspective I really like the as opposed to it being say stitched in. This shoe also has a one year waterproof warranty which again shows the premium materials they use.

The stand out feature is however the Wing shaped heel tab, it just looks so cool.
The mid sole of the shoe is a full air unit, this foam makes the shoe very comfortable inside the shoe it is very padded and the feel is really impressive. The only negative is the ankle padding is very narrow making it difficult to get on!

Reading a lot of views the main negative with the shoe is the outsole. It is rubber, and as we know rubber when wet can squeak. When walking and playing for 18 holes, this can get very annoying. The pattern on the outsole is designed to give you grip, it goes down from top to bottom. At the heel and the toes this is nice and straight to counter the pattern and keep you stable.

Fit wise they are tight, I would go at least half a size up, if you are playing 18 holes they will be fine. Anymore than that I would even go a full size up. For me the best fit was a full size up, I have done 8 hours coaching in these and have found them very comfy and breathable.

Overall for £120 I would buy these, I love the leather and the comfy fit, the outsole performs well and so far it has not squeaked for me….. yet!
