Level crossing found within the staggered platforms of Pencoed Station, a station serving the town of Pencoed within the Bridgend Country Borough of South Wales. At this level crossing, the alarms here are really quite quiet, and the barriers, whilst having been installed here in only the last few years, are a little worse for wear as two strike the floor when they're lowered. Even with the lights, barriers, and the alarms at this level crossing being renewed within the last few years, there are active, proposed plans to permanently close this level crossing and replace it with a road bridge to ease traffic flow in the town, though these proposals may only happen in the next few years at the earliest.
Three lowerings are featured in this video. In the first, a light class 66 speeds past towards Bridgend. The first of two trains featured in the second lowering also kindly gave quite a loud three-tone horn as it passed, with the horn still sounding as it passed me! Even though I didn't wave for the horn to be sounded, I did wave to say thanks.
Thanks for watching!
