Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally Charity supports state of the art medical care that provides advanced medical care to underserved communities in South India. This documentary came about by our fascination with the consistent message we heard from doctors and nurses at The Sri Narayani Hospital Group in India. While speaking with The Hospital Director and many departments heads, doctors and nurses I often heard "This hospital is different" and "Here we give our service with love". We hadn't heard the consistency of those comments from hospitals anywhere and we wanted to share the vision that has driven this group's amazing success.

So our team started to video, and we visited with many of the department heads to get to know their departments a little better. During this process, the head of the hospital board, Saint Sri Narayani Amma, suggested we create a video that told The Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Group as well as Sri Narayani Amma's story. Here it is!

Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally support Canadian International Development by improving nutritional, medical and educational outreach in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu State, South India and in disaster struck areas of the world. We are a volunteer organization and every public dollar donated is invested directly supporting our programs in South India or supporting our partners in emergency disaster relief.

Our Health Programs In Vellore District, South India improve health and relieve the effects of poverty by supporting 3 local Indian Charities that improve basic nutrition, provide hospital equipment and provide accessible medicines and vitamins. We support and participate in rural medical outreach health programs that distribute free medical diagnosis, vitamins and medicines to over 400 rural villages that otherwise have little access to health services.

Our Education Programs in South India  support Local Indian Charities through program elements that improve education by supporting local public schools and a nursing college by donating educational equipment.  Educational equipment includes books, periodicals, smart boards, computer lab equipment and teaching aids.

Our Emergency Disaster Relief Program provides food, water, medicines, shelter and basic survival needs to relieve humanitarian disasters wherever they occur.

About Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally?

1. Who are we: We are a Canadian charity that supports humanitarian efforts in Vellore District, Southern India and Disaster Relief Worldwide.

2. What do we do: We support existing charitable programs in Southern India focused on providing better nutrition, better health care, and better education for people living in under-served communities. We donate equipment for schools and local hospitals, and provide people with necessities such as food and clothing.

3. How do we do it: We fund raise locally and internationally by participating in annual Scotiabank Charity Challenge Marathons in Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver.  We participate in Giving Tuesday and other social awareness events, and create awareness of our outreach through local and international events. We use 100% of the public dollars raised in Canada to support our charitable programs in South India and disaster relief efforts worldwide. Self-funded volunteers travel to India each year to share CSLG’s support, monitor program impact, and inaugurate new medical and educational equipment donations.

5. How are we different: We’re small, nimble, and dedicated. We are a fully volunteer-based organization. 100% of our public donations are invested directly into the programs and causes we support.

Because of a generous ongoing gift that offsets any operational expenses, all of the donations for our South Indian Programs are invested in the direct purchase of items including food, clothing and basic housewares, medicine, medical and educational equipment.

All of the donations for our Disaster Relief Program are invested with our overseas partners to provide food, water, clothing, medicine, shelter and basic supplies to Humanitarian Disaster Victims.
