These two UNESCO World Heritage site churches are in the town of Hildesheim in northern Germany, and have remained largely unchanged since their construction in the 11th century. Both have very distinct architectural styles, and some incredible treasures inside - St Michael's church's painted ceiling, and St Mary's cathedral's amazing bronze doors. Definitely a hidden gem, this one!
