It's a big day for the Resident Evil series with the arrival of the latest entry Resident Evil Requiem for Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 owners.
On the performance front, the Nintendo Switch 2 runs at an unlocked frame rate across both modes and targets 60fps. It doesn't hit this target "a lot of the time" but mostly runs in the 40s and 50s docked, with the lowest dips reducing the game to 30fps. In handheld, you can expect the game to "knock off a few frames in comparable spots
Capcom has unleashed DLSS upscaling to make Resident Evil Requiem shine on the Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Switch 2 version and the native resolution is a mere 540p which uses DLSS to upscale it to 1080p. As for handheld mode, the game renders at 360p. The main issue is with the framerate which the Nintendo Switch 2 seems to struggle with at times during intense sequences, though it is the weaker of the consoles, so it shouldn’t be massively surprising. Overall though, Capcom seems to have to produced a very impressive port.
