🌸If your orchid foliage shows localized dry, papery brown and white spots, it likely isn’t sick - it’s sun-scorched.
When an orchid leaf is wet and sits in direct sun, the water can create a “hot spot”.
A droplet can concentrate light like a tiny lens and it keeps the leaf surface wet while temperatures spike—so the cells underneath overheat and die.

That’s why the mark is usually localized, dry, and papery (sun scorch), not something spreading like fungus.
The key takeaway: Bright light is great. The problem is direct sun + water sitting on the leaf, especially near a window where sunlight is intense and heat builds fast.
