1930 Ford Model A Visits Johnson City TN AKA Little Chicago To Do Then and Now Comparisons

Описание: I Drove my 1930 Ford Model A Town Sedan to visit some historical spots and compare old time photos dating all the way back to the 1870's. I then looked for those locations and compared them to the present day. Some things changed a little, while other places have been removed.

I also checked out some of the locations that the legendary mob boss from Chicago, AL Capone visited as legend goes. Some people testify that he actually did frequent the Tri-city area whiles others insist that it is just nothing but stories. Still, those stories continue to be told.

You will also see that three major railroads operated in Johnson City. The Sothern Railway, The Clinchfield Railroad, and the East Tennessee & Western North Carolina or "Tweetsie" Railroad.

As to gear, I shoot a variety of full frame Nikon cameras and lenses. Most everything is shot on a tripod to produce the sharpest images possible.

My 1930 Ford Town Sedan has eyebrow fenders and still has the original interior. It's certainly worn but it still is functional. I have rebuilt the driveline, suspension, and tie rods, installed a modernized Model A motor with oversized intake valves, insert bearings, and a high compression head. I also have a lightened flywheel and V8 clutch. The car comfortably cruises at 50MPH but I've had it up to 60MPH. I have also insulated and installed sound deadener which has made the car enjoyable to be in even at 90 degrees.
