The Last Samurai visits Tanukidanisan Fudoin temple in Kyoto, Japan and introduces Hiwatari festival, the fire walking festival. This temple belongs to Shingonshu Shugendo sect and it was established in 1718. The big bonfire is burned on July 28th and they make a holy way to walk on with the charcoal and the ash of it. And we walk on it to burn our earthly desires and to wish our health or the world peace.
