Swansea Bus Museum held their Celebration Running Day on Sunday 25th October 2015. The special Celebration was to mark the 60th Birthday of Alan West's superb ex South Wales Transport AEC Regent V, 447 MCY 407 which is the oldest surviving Regent V in existence. Dating from 1955 it is an AEC Regent V MD3RV, Engine AV470, 7.75 litre. Body MCW Orion H32/28R. It spent most of it's working life in and around Llanelli. Alan and other members of the Museum ( The South Wales Transport Preservation Trust) spent many Hours of hard labour painstakingly restoring 447 to Her former glory. I think they did an awesome job. In Today's video you will see some of the visiting vehicles and Home fleet Buses. **** The main part of the video was Filmed by my friend Bob Masterman of me driving 1964 AEC Regent V 590....423 HCY on Service 77 to Limeslade , as Sharon wasn't able to come and assist Me as usual. His footage taken with my Camcorder shows clips taken at The Slip, Mumbles Road, Blackpill, West Cross, Oystermouth, Mumbles and Limeslade. A massive thanks to Bob for doing this for Me...I am very grateful...We did have a laugh throughout the Day and even met some fellow Youtubers at Limeslade.....EMuksteam, C&A and Em and Sam...a pleasure to meet you. A nice addition for 2015 was the appearance of Rob Rayner and some of His friends from The Llanelli & District Model Engineers who brought some of their Traction Engines along and gave rides to the public...They proved very popular. Today was highly successful and a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers for putting on such a brilliant Running Day..Although a member I'm just sorry i live so far away as i would enjoy helping out with their restorations of their future Bus projects. I hope you enjoy this video, on probably one of the nicest Autumn Running Day's i can remember...Sunny and warm...!! Steve.~
