Long ago, there was a Hmong man named Yawg Nkaj Zeb. He traveled to a distant Hmong village to court a young woman. He never actually saw her face; they only spoke to each other through conversation at the side of her house.
After some time, he decided to marry her. However, while bringing her back along the road, he finally looked at her and realized she was a different woman—very ugly. He refused to marry her. This caused the ugly woman to become deeply angry and heartbroken. She later fell ill and died, turning into a female ghost that relentlessly haunted Yawg Nkaj Zeb, Hmong old story
