I’m Paul “Tan Santa” — born in rural Washington State in the late ’60s, left the U.S. at 23 for a 6-month Russia stint that turned into 18 years, and now home-based in Riga, Latvia with seasons in France. After decades in a global corporate role, I hit a life pivot at 56—chose to bet on myself and finally tell my story.

Back after 32 years abroad I have started my American tour in my Tan Santa branded camper van. Looking forward to meeting interesting people, seeing interesting places, and finding BAD ASS beards!

This series follows my American Tour in a kitted-out van branded Tan Santa’s Fine European Beard Care—built with my Old School Homies (friends since age 11–12). I’ve logged 1,400+ flights, 850+ passport stamps, and 7.5 years of hotel nights around the world. Now I’m rolling through the lower 48 states to reconnect with America, share lessons from a wild path, and bring you behind the scenes of Tan Santa—travel, beard culture, and honest talk about reinvention.
