The Government of Nagaland today accorded a State Funeral to Late Shri Imkong L. Imchen, Hon’ble Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, who passed away on November 11 at the age of 75.

The funeral service was held at his official residence at Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima, attended by the Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, Speaker Shri Sharingain Longkumer, Chief Secretary Shri Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, senior officials, and members of the public.

The ceremony included condolence messages, hymns, and a Guard of Honour, reflecting the deep respect he commanded across Nagaland’s political and social spectrum.

Born on June 15, 1950, Late Imchen served the state with dedication — holding key ministerial portfolios such as Home, Health & Family Welfare, Education, and Environment. His passing marks the end of an era of leadership and service in Nagaland.
