My Review of Sensira Resort & Spa in Riviera Maya - 5/5 A Nice Family Friendly Resort!

Описание: Here is a small but detailed review of our stay at Sensira Resort and Spa located in the town of Puerto Morelos, just a 20 minute drive from the Cancun airport in Mexico along the Riviera Maya.

For what this resort offers, it is worth way more than what you pay which is affordable in my opinion. Not only is this a family friendly resort, but there are many options for adults as well such as an adult only pool area with a hot tub jaccuzi, the Amber Lounge, and a pub called The Knights Pub, and a club called S Club. After 9 pm its mostly quiet so if you’re looking for a party vibe then this place isn’t it. But that vibe isn’t for me so I loved that it was quiet after a certain time.

For families and kids, the jungle gym area with the splash pad was awesome and most small kids spent the day there leaving the pools free and not too busy for the most part. Las Brisas next to the pools near the beach was always so good and made fresh to order. Their chips and guac was to DIE for. Jesus and Cesar from Las Brisas/Coral Bar near the pools always made sure we were good and brought us food and drinks wherever we sat and took great care of us.

The kids club is split up in to two different age groups – 18mo-4 years and 5-12 years old. This is great as the smaller kids didn’t have to get tangled up with the bigger kids and had their own space. The girls running it such as Karly and Fatima were amazing and my kids loved going there after a long day of swimming to just hang out. There are activities planned and a movie area with bean bags for the little ones to just chill and hang out. They are open from 9 am to 9 pm daily.

The La Pergola buffet was amazing and we were always there for breakfast. I admit we kind of slept on the dinner buffet – so much fresh delicious food and grills where they freshly grilled seafood and steaks in front of you. We made sure to eat there before we left on our last night.

There are 3 a la carte restaurants, a steakhouse, Italian, and Mexican. We tried the steakhouse called Rodeo several times and loved it each time. We tried the Italian once and it was just “meh” and didn’t return. We didn’t even bother with the Mexican as I heard from a few other resort goers that they didn’t like it.

I pre-booked via email with concierge for their infamous “Galerie de Sens” fancy French restaurant. Which by the way, I booked all of our a la carte reservations via email prior to arriving just to save ourselves headache. This restaurant offers a 10 course dinner in tiny potions with many of them involving raw meats and seafood. It wasn’t for us but a great interesting vibe nonetheless.

On the first floor where the lobby is located there is a play area with a air hockey table, ping pong table, and a foosball table. Right next to it is a trampoline area for kids, and a movie theatre with a cute popcorn stand. In that same area there is a late night snack bar that opens at 6 pm and late in to the night. In the beginning when they open, their food is pretty fresh. But, when we first arrived for check in at 12 am we were pretty hungry and the food at that time was inedible. We had to order room service which took about 45 minutes to come. I asked why the long wait – apparently everyone is ordering room service late at night, who knew.

There are nightly shows at 9:30, they differ throughout the week and they have a schedule posted on tvs in the lobby. My favourite was the Illusion show with the magician named Fernando Mier.

It’s Mexico so its to be expected that there is seaweed but I never noticed any seaweed smell and there was always seaweed trucks from early morning cleaning it up throughout the day. It’s not the resorts fault and they tried their best to stay ahead of it.

I would absolutely love to come back to this resort. As a Canadian I noticed at least 80% of the resort goers were also Canadian so you felt like you were at home but in Mexico.
