The stunning dance and music film Nritya Mandali, which I shot and edited, shows the rigorous training sessions of two girls who would be performing Bharatanatyam at a college event. The hidden message of the video is how dancers must overcome their worries and insecurities in order to perform in front of a large crowd.
I wanted to illustrate the emotional journey dancers experience before a performance through this film. With each step made towards the final performance, there is tension, self-doubt, and moments of victory. The video not only illustrates the conventional dance style, but also highlights the feelings and ideas that go along with it.
As the film goes on, viewers can see the dancers' exquisite movements in their regular clothing as the deep music plays in the background. Slow-motion images and inventive transitions enhance the video's aesthetic appeal, making it a pleasure to watch.
