(TNND) — American astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore returned to Earth after what was meant to be a weeklong mission turned into nine months aboard the International Space Station.
Tuesday evening at approximately 5:57 p.m. the crew successfully splashed down in the newly renamed, under President Donald Trump, "Gulf of America." This was following a "deorbit" sequence and "blackout period" where the crew lost communication as they began reentry in the Earth's inner atmosphere.
